Coronado ArtWalk 2011

Coronado Art Walk 2011

The 2011 Coronado Art Walk will be held at the Coronado Ferry Landing from 10:00am till 5:00pm. The 2-day Coronado Art Walk is put on by the Coronado Historical Association and is an admission free, public event designed to foster creativity and appreciation for the wonders of art. Artists will be housed in tented booths along the entrance and on the grounds of the Ferry Landing.

Painting, hand crafted jewelry, photography, ceramics and other mediums will be featured. Artists have been selected by a jury for their ability to express the vast and varied world of art in their particular art form. This exciting venue will include Interactive Art Activities to delight both children and adults.

Family Drop-In Day

Family Drop-In Day: Exploring Asian Art
Thursday, September 18, 2011 / 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
The San Diego Museum of Art / 1450 El Prado / SD CA 92101

Adults and children alike will enjoy exploring Asian Art. After a tour of the Museum’s renowned Asian Art Collection, you will have an opportunity to create scrolls in the Asian tradition, using rare papers, learning and featuring calligraphy as a focal point, and cutting balsa wood strips and fancy ribbon, to hang the scroll that you or your children make.

Family Drop-In Days are the third Sunday of every month, from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm and are recommended for families with children 6 to 12 years of age. Activities vary and may include games, Search-and-Find activities, family-friendly, docent-led tours, and art-making.  Each Drop-In day has a unique theme, art project, and tour that focus on a specific part of our collection.

Come and be a part of a new unique event in Little Italy North's Art d’Strada; which will be held on Saturday, September 24th from Noon to 8:00pm on India & Kettner between W. Grape & W. Laurel. This is an event that will be showcasing the Arts & Design District in a “green” light; with music from local bands, artwork created by local artists from recycled & salvaged materials, recreated rooms in the streets and food by Little Italy North businesses & local food trucks.

The La Jolla Art & Wine Festival returns to Girard Avenue on October 1 & 2 for its third annual event, promising to be the largest and most exciting year yet. Expecting to draw in crowds of over 20,000, this two-day juried art show has quickly garnered a reputation as one of the most prestigious Art & Wine festivals in Southern California. Featuring the works of over 130 established artists from San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange County, Baja and beyond, the event and fundraiser features something for everyone— including live entertainment, a wine and beer garden featuring the finest regional wineries and local breweries, a gourmet marketplace, and the Geppetto’s Family Art Center. All profits raised will benefit local public elementary schools.

$10 for adults; $5: Kids 12 & under, Military, & Senior (65 & above)
