Overview

Arts Month San Diego is an informal marketing collaboration made up of a wide variety of the city’s nonprofit and for-profit arts and performance entities under one umbrella.  In a nutshell, Arts Month is an open invitation to all San Diegans as well as visitors to take advantage of the vast array of cultural offerings we have as a city.

The vision is that 2011 is a planning/establishing year to generate grassroots excitement and visibility, and this would grow to become an annual event.  This is not unlike Arts Month events that happen in other major cities (Los Angeles, Sydney, etc.).

Through community outreach, viral word-of-mouth and a modest print and outdoor advertising campaign, we are urging San Diegans to enjoy the best the art world has to offer without leaving the city. 

How to Get Involved
September 2011

Participation is open to all non-profit and for-profit visual and performaing arts organizations that are located in the the Greater San Diego / Tijuana region. There is a $100 annual fee to be listed on the website, in press releases, print and social media channels, and an opportunity to list on the Arts PASS. This contribution will go to support the ongoing development and hosting of the web site as well as to help with the design of certain collateral elements.

There are other optional promotional opportunities that are available  for additional costs: such as advertisement in a special Union Tribune promotion / banner ads along Harbor Drive, and spotlight advertising opportunities with media partners. Once you sign on as a participant you will be given a list of Marketing Opportunities.

1. TITLE – Of event, exhibition or performance

1. DATE & VENUE – Specific starting & ending dates if applicable.

2. DESCRIPTION – Keep your descriptions simple, interesting, and exciting. Avoid simply restating your event title. Describe to answer these questions:

  • What is your event?
  • What makes your event special?
  • Why should people attend your event?
  • How will this event benefit the guest?

* Maximum text length: 135 words / 1000 characters (with spaces)

3. IMAGE – Images can help catch people’s attention. Chose an interesting image to add to your event. Images should be no more than 1 MB in size. Horizontal format is preferred.
